My wife retired from teaching first grade in 2007. Several years before that, when she complained that her feet hurt from being on her feet most of the day, I took her to a store that sold high-quality shoes that were actually designed for human feet. She wound up with a pair of Vaasas in brown. She had never had a pair of shoes in that price range, having always despised wearing higher than a low heel. How many husbands encourage their wives to spend more on shoes? Well, she isn’t a shoe collector. Anyway, she declared they were well worth the price, wore them until retirement and still does, though not daily. They still look good, a little wear ant the heel. Anyway, she declared a few weeks ago that she’d like a pair in black. A Google Lens search was necessary to determine that it was the Vaasa, a web search to purchase ( the store is long-closed) and she now has her Vaasas in black for Christmas.
